Headlight polishing

A Second Life for Your Headlights
Cloudy, yellowed headlights are not just an aesthetic issue that ages a car by 5–10 years. It is a matter of safety. Oxidized plastic can block up to 40% of the light, which is critical when driving at night or in the rain.
The good news is that in 90% of cases, headlights can be restored to a "like-new" condition without resorting to replacement.
Why do headlights become cloudy?
Modern headlights are made of polycarbonate. This is a durable plastic, but it has its enemies:
-
Ultraviolet (UV) rays: The sun breaks down the factory protective coating, causing yellowing.
-
Mechanical impact: Road sand and small stones act as an abrasive, creating micro-scratches.
-
Chemicals: Aggressive cleaning agents at car washes can accelerate the coating's aging process.
The Restoration Method: Deep Abrasive Polishing
-
Best for: Severely neglected, yellowed, and opaque headlights.
-
The Process: Completely removing the damaged layer of plastic using sandpaper, followed by polishing.
-
The Result: Perfect clarity, comparable to brand-new headlights.
Securing the Result (The Most Important Step)
We have just removed the factory protective layer. If the headlight is left "naked," it will turn yellow again within 1–2 months.
You must apply protection, and the best choice is Polyurethane Film (PPF).
This is the most reliable option (often called "armoring" or "clear bra"), which protects against both UV rays and new stone chips.
This procedure costs us 250 euros.
